CHANGE GEAR TO ACCELERATE PERFORMANCE

The Achiever Programme is a unique development solution, designed to bring out the best in individuals and bridge the gap between strategy and execution. The programme enables each individual to accomplish the results required in today’s demanding business environment.

The key “compass” taught throughout the programme is ESP:

E=Energy – How to work smarter not harder, to prioritise tasks so as to best contribute to strategy.

S=Strength – Playing to strengths energises individuals, allowing them to focus on areas where they are most likely to perform.

P=Partnership – Works to reduce team politics by celebrating diversity and encouraging all to play to strength.

The process draws on key concepts essential to becoming an effective achiever including:

-    Project management principles (prioritisation, cost/value analysis and scheduling principles) to ensure effectiveness and efficient work processes (time management);
-    Leadership insights into authentic leadership styles (developing strengths) and emotional intelligence, people management and diversity management (partnership).

Objectives
  • Identify time management profiles and understand how to apply effective time management principles;
  • Align activities to make a valuable contribution to the overall organisational strategy;
  • Apply the principles of ESP: energy, strength and partnership to develop an effective operating style;
  • Manage relationships with valuable partners to improve teamwork and performance;
  • Create and employ a systematic approach to support the achievement of key objectives;
  • Translating strategic intent into effective daily action.
Who should attend?

The programme is design for all individuals responsible for making the strategy a reality who would like to improve their performance. The process is effective for those in management roles (Team Leaders, Line Managers, Supervisors, Junior and Middle Management).

Duration (Pre-work, 1-day workshop and ½-day follow-up)

Pre-work helps participants prepare for their time management profiles and is a fill- in form that takes no longer than 30-40 minutes to complete and is done one week prior to the 1 Day Workshop.

The 1-day workshop is highly interactive and the programme design is informed by the Kolbe Learning Cycle, which recognizes that learning needs to involve a balance between:

Reflection – individual work and facilitator sharing content on best practice;

Active experimentation – group work including discussions and exercises;

Concrete experience – sharing insights, inclusion of programme manuals;

Abstract conceptualization – reflection on ways to use the insights.

On the day, participants go through a process of recognising and understanding the realities of their environment, profiling their own and others’ strengths and the value these strengths create for the organisation and team in which they operate. They then learn various operating styles in order to harness these strengths, improve their performance and transform from crisis management to effective management.

Follow- up: 6 Weeks after the 1-day participants will do a ½-day follow-up in order to sustain achievement. Using coaching methodologies and solution-focused group discussion; participants will review what’s worked and what hasn’t. A series of summative assessments and a time management audit will be completed to establish what improvement in performance there has been.  Participants can improve performance by 20%.
