BUILDING THE NATION
Empowering teachers for a better future in education
Achievement begins with a strong education. We all know that our teachers play a pivotal role in the development of our nation's learners. Unfortunately, however, many of our educators are not trained in effective time management. In addition, many teachers - especially in the rural areas - are faced with insufficient learning material and support, making the transfer of knowledge very challenging.
We are actively involved in empowering teachers to provide the youth with the best support during this critical learning phase. The National Teacher' Diary and the National Teacher's Guide provides teachers with the essential tools to stimulate learners while The Stars in Education Awards motivates teachers to 'spread their light' to build a better future for education.
Many of South Africa's top companies have already made an investment in the development of the future of leaders by sponsoring the SADTU Teachers' Diary, National Teachers Guide and in The Stars in Education Awards. Development partners include companies such as Old Mutual, Metropolitan, Capitec Bank, the SABC and various publishing houses, as well as various educational institutions.
As so much else in South Africa, our learning environment is defined by diversity. In this demanding and challenging landscape, it is necessary to recognise the role that teachers play, not just in teaching but also in inspiring our learners for the future. They are key figures in our communities, as schools often represent the hub of a society, and need all the help and support they can get to nurture and shape the future of our country.
We at Argo are committed to be part of the solution to make a difference, create a better learning landscape and shape a community for the future.
